Norms and Quality

Article published the : 2005-06-22

The Firegard collection offers the best in term of quality and security, without neglecting beauty and aestheticism. Flame retardant regulation today demands that many public places respect security norms in order to limit the risk of their possible propagation. Apart from aesthetic considerations, the Firegard fabrics must fulfil the requirements of national and international legislations of fire-protection.

Norms :

The Firegard flame retardant fabrics meet the strictest international flame retardant standards:

M1: French standards controlling the requirements relating to the inflammability of building materials, "not easily

flammable" category

B1: German standards controlling the requirements relating to the inflammability of material used. Although this

standard is of German origin, it is used in the majority of the European countries.

BS 5867: English standard controlling the requirements relating to the European inflammability of the material used.

European norm: In order to harmonize the European legislation, a European standard, controlling the requirements relating to the inflammability of materials used, will be soon accepted by the Member States of the European Union.

The majority of fabrics of the Firegard collection use flame retardant fabrics in Trevira CS in order to ensure the quality and the functionality of the fabrics.
