Will an awning block out the glare of the sun?

At noon on a sunny day, the brightness of an area without shade can easily reach 50 000 Lux. An awning fabric filters the light and, depending on the colour, generates a brightness value between 1 000 and 5 000 Lux – which is a pleasant and well-lit environment.
